Ok, so the reveals are up, and even though we did not win, this was, seriously, so much fun! I met really cool people, I read awesome fanfiction, gave birth to two stories and got a Red Award, so life is officially beautiful. However, I can't spell worth shit now, having returned from work a few hours ago, so I'm going to stop rambling now and perhaps post a story. Yes, no?
I actually really love this one. A week or two after this was finished, I traveled downtown to the Pike Place Market to pick up some tea and on the way back was attacked by a volunteer - big, scary one with a bushy red beard - for Children International who offered me to sponsor a child. So I picked "girl" and "Ecuador". Maybe there was something in it.

This story for RS Games does not want to get written. It's fighting me tooth and claw. I have, what, three versions of it, neither one completed, and I have read each one so many times that the words go right through my brain without pausing, and I'm sick of them. Definitely need a break.
So instead, I'm watching Billy Elliot, English Patient and the original Star Wars (brings me right to childhood, whoo-hoo!). Speaking of The English Patient, I watched bits and pieces of it years ago and got a very predatory sort of interest in that one scene when the sapper sergeant gets blown up, and then Kip talks to Hana about him, and it's all messy and very inarticulate. I am pretty sure (or like to believe) that Hana meant "You loved him" in the slashy way, but so far, there does not seem to be any sort of slashy undertones in the book, and the sapper got blown up a long way from where I am now. So I get it about not stricktly following the books' plot in the movie, I get it about having Almasy come back to the cave sooner than in three years, but you can't possibly change Kip in such a major way, can you?
Is it just my dirty rotten imagination, or what?
By the way, I don't get Caravaggio either, but I have not quiet gotten to his part of the story in the book yet, so maybe he is actually tracking down people responsible for his disability. I do think I like the movie better as far as the story goes, though the book Caravaggio agrees with me more at this point.

I figured that if I have to switch the station when someone on the radio very briefly touches the subject of animal cruelty because I don't want that image in my head, then no, perhaps I should not consider vet school.

And English punctuation bothers me a lot, by the way. When I grow up, I want to be literate.

Anyway, there is Lupin Big Bang, which I might or might not participate in. Some kind soul has given me this giant article on the development of tanks and their role in WWI, so maybe, maybe... It's rather interesting to go play at the fest hosted by other parts of the fandom and shippers of different pairings. I saw two fellow R/S writers there, but the others were, well, from a different world. I have a lot of doubt about unleashing a 20,000 non-magical AU on people, but hey, I don't know anbody there, so a giant failure would be okay. If those readers are anything like me, a lot of them would be squeaked just by the ship alone like I am squeaked in a major way by some of them.

Oh Fates, you are being funny today, aren't you?
RS Small Gifts is running again this year, and I've been keeping my eye on this prompt. AND IT IS GONE, GONE, GONE! Not even the exact prompt that I wanted. But you know what, Fates, I have already done research on WWI tanks and they are awesome, and maybe some day someting good will come out of it. Yes.
Fine, be that way.

There is another one, and equally cool!

I saw Where the Wild Things Are today in a practically empty theater. It was all sad and lonely and extremely angry, and I LOVED it. Awww, rain, monsters, anger, bring it on!

Then I lured Mari to my place with a bait of home-cooked Chinese food (by a very non-Chinese me) and managed to give her Harry Potter to read. Holy shit, let's just set a deadline for Christmas and start whining then about wanting the book back, and it's okay she hasn't cracked it yet, it really is, I'm not upset, just GIVE ME MY BOOK BACK! I seriously wonder if there is anything in the first book to get her hooked. Oh, anxiety. I shall not ask her about it every damn week. Oh, oh.

One day I am going to invent some dreadfully strict religion. We will worship the Cookie Monster by having tea and cookies every Sunday, we will busy ourselves with charity and conservation; also, premarital sex will be absolutely prohibited. I will say it offends His Cookiness who wants your univided dedication. But in reality, it will be one great, gigantic coverup for everybody who did not manage to get laid by whatever unfashionable age. And then, when people actually achieve the new social heights, I will make a great public show of kicking them out of the cult, and everybody's honor will be saved.
All hail the Cookie Monster!

I have been bouncing up and down for about 10 hrs now. My buttcepts are all sore from the exercise. I have read some, and cooked some, and wrote some blogs, and cooked more for the upcoming work stretch, and watched a movie, and a lot - a lot! - of Darjeeling tea perished in the process. I tried to figure out time differences and failed miserably. Tried doing hoework and failed there, too.
Aaaaa, so excited!

Since there is no one here, I don't see much point in pimping the R/S Games (community.livejournal.com/rs_games/ )too much, but I'm going to say that I am bouncy with excitement. I'm gonna bounce all over the living room! Because Go Team Canon! and all that, but in truth, it is not going to be the least bit upsetting if AU wins. They've got imochan, the lucky bastards. And while we have a great team of awesome people too, she is one of my personal heroes. So... Go Team Canon!

On a totally different note, I am loving Seattle's "99.9 KISW The Rock". They have this dude there during the morning talk show that laughs his butt off in the background. Seriously, if some TV show featured one tech guy just dying of mirth in the background instead of those classic laughing clues, I would be plastered to the screen. I would sit there and have a parade of mental pictures where everybody is trying to keep a straight face on the set while some bearded tech dude is rolling, not realizing there is a mic nearby.
